European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures
- BBMRI Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure
- Contact person Research Director, Professor Leena Peltonen-PalotieThe mission is to prepare for the construction of a pan-European Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure (BBMRI) for biomedical and biological research, building on existing infrastructures, resources and technologies, specifically complemented with innovative components and properly embedded into the European ethical, legal and societal frameworks. The ultimate goal is to benefit European health-care, medical research, and the health of the citizens. The Finnish participation is coordinated by the Unit of Chronic Disease Genetics, THL.
- EATRIS European Advanced Translational Research Infrastructure in Medicine
- Contact persons Director, Professor Olli Kallioniemi and
Research Coordinator, Dr Kimmo PitkänenEATRIS will be focussing on taking the biomedical research results towards clinical utility.
- ELIXIR The purpose of ELIXIR is to construct a world-class European infrastructure for the management and integration of information in the life sciences coordinated by the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI-EMBL). CSC (IT Center for Science) is the Finnish node of ELIXIR.
