Research
As the name of the institute suggests the research at FIMM is focused on molecular medicine. This is the area where FIMM can maximally leverage its strategic resources - large sample collections, clinical data as well as advanced technology platforms. However, rather than just concentrating on the basic research FIMM also aims at translating the discoveries into practical medical applications, such as novel diagnostics and therapeutic agents. As this tends to be a prolonged and complex process FIMM concentrates on the early development and seeks industrial partners to take care of the later stages.
