Create MySQL databases

It is now possible for our users to create and manage collaborative MySQL research databases on FIMM servers.

This service provides an easy way for all FIMM users to create relational databases to manage their data. Setting up a new database can be done easily using the FIMM user portal at https://userportal.giu.fi, where the user setting up the database can control who gets access to it.

Our MySQL server is located at address 'lindex' when connecting from within FIMM network and 'bbu-lindex' when connecting from THL network. The dedicated MySQL server is equipped with 16 CPU cores, 64 GB RAM and about 4 TB of fast SAN fibre channel disk.
