Clinical and Molecular Pathology 2015 Course | Biomedicum Helsinki

The Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) and Doctoral Programme in Biomedicine (DPBM) at the University of Helsinki welcome participants in the 2015 Clinical and Molecular Pathology course. The course focuses on recent findings including research highlights and approaches in clinical and molecular pathology covering several cancer types, both in human and animal models featuring human disease. 

The course consists of two elements:
1) lectures by leading scientists and experts and 
2) active journal club discussions related to the topics covered during the lectures. 
 
The course goals are to 1) expose and engage students in the research fields of clinical and molecular pathology, 2) enhance knowledge on current practices in molecular pathology in biomedical research, 3) introduce cutting edge models such as tissue slice and 3D organoid cultures as research tools in cancer biology, and 4) familiarize students with digital pathology and imaging tools. 
 
Target audience:  Open to all doctoral candidates, with priority for FIMM and DPBM students
Capacity: 20 max

 
ECTS Credits: 2,0 ECTS credits for full attendance and active participation. In the event of illness or emergency, please talk with the course organizer.
