DNA should be provided in 96-well format aliquoted into a
- 0,2 ml well plate (Cat. # AB-0800_L ,Thermo Fisher Scientific Abgene) or
- 0,8 ml well plate (Cat. # AB-0765, Thermo Fisher Scientific Abgene)
Plates should be sealed securely using either an adhesive lid, strip caps or a removable heat sealed lid.
We recommend Adhesive PCR foil (Cat. # AB-0626, Thermo Fisher Scientific Abgene) only for shipments at room temperature. Make sure to attach the foil seal properly to each well by rubbing the surface with soft cloth or lab wipe. Note! If you send the plates on dry ice this foil should not be used (use e.g. strip caps instead)!
Make sure to protect the seals from punches. If you stack multiple plates put e.g. cardboard or wadding layer between the plates.
Make sure that the plate name, sample concentration and date information is clearly marked on the front side of the plate (photo example). Plate name should be the same as in the form FIMM basic information of samples.
The frozen plates should be placed in the shipping container so that there is enough dry ice/blocks to keep the samples frozen during shipment and any delays that may occur with the courier.
Shipping of samples
Whenever possible, please avoid shipping on Thursdays and Fridays to avoid the samples arriving over the weekend.
Pack the samples so that the plates or seals are not damaged during shipment. If you stack multiple plates put e.g. cardboard or wadding layer between the plates.
Please ask us for instructions before sending the samples via air courier!
